24 kV high voltage lightning arrester
The 24kV high-voltage surge arrester is an electrical protection device designed to limit transient overvoltages in 24kV power systems, primarily safeguarding equipment from damage caused by lightning strikes and switching overvoltages. Modern metal oxide surge arresters (MOSAs) utilize zinc oxide resistive discs as their core components, exhibiting excellent nonlinear voltage-current characteristics. During normal system operation, they maintain a high-resistance state with negligible current conduction. However, when excessive voltages occur in the system, their resistance value drops sharply, rapidly dissipating the overvoltage energy to protect the insulation of connected equipment from damage.
